Consumers like to know they’re getting a genuine Cornish pasty!
Cornish pasties are “D” shaped and crimped on the side (never on top) and contain potato, swede, onion and beef with seasoning to taste, primarily salt and pepper.
EU Protected Food Names Legislation
Just like Champagne, the Cornish pasty enjoys protected or “PGI” status under EU Protected Food Names legislation.
This means only a pasty made to a specific recipe in Cornwall can be called a “Cornish Pasty”.
PGI Status Products
PGI status applies to:
- 62099 CC Real Cornish™Large Steak Pastie
- 62100 CC Real Cornish™ Medium Steak Pastie and
- 62101 CC Real Cornish™ Small Steak Pastie.
