Demand for convenience has never been higher, and the ultimate convenience is home delivery. The foodservice delivery market is worth £8.5bn, increasing 40% over the last 3 years, with 11m users of online food delivery apps in the UK (Statista, 2020). “We have added an extensive selection of bread, savouries, and hot food to go to the ever-increasing range of products that its customers can purchase using the Snappy Shopper home delivery app.

The products available, all of which can be delivered to the consumer with 30-60 minutes of an order being placed, include: sausage rolls, pasties, handheld bakes, hot baps, burgers, rostis, Parisienne loaves and Tiger Bloomers.

We are already selling around £300 worth of Country Choice products every week through the Snappy Shopper app,’ says the retailer. ‘To begin with we only added a few lines, just to gauge consumer interest, but it has been so successful that sales have rocketed to the point where we now have 19 Country Choice products available through the app. And, incredibly, the Waldens 8” sausage roll is now amongst the top three items bought from us using Snappy Shopper. My guess is that demand will continue to grow, with more and more customers requesting home deliveries.’

To promote the new offer leaflets have been distributed inside and outside of the store, as well as promoting it on the stores Facebook page. ‘The Snappy Shopper app is particularly popular with young mums and the older generation who don’t find it quite as easy to get out of the house to shop. Overall, orders via the app have tended to be most frequent between 2.00pm-6.00pm but this has changed since the schools have re-opened and the most popular time is now just before school pick up and then after 3.30pm-6.30pm.’
